Weekly Update

What a wonderful start to the new school year Blue Class have had!

It has been fantastic getting to know each and every child and I have been blown away by how polite and hardworking they have shown themselves to be.

This week, we have begun our history unit ‘The Ancient Maya Civilisation’, and our science unit ‘Living things and their Habitats’. The children have been eager to share what they already know!

Next week, we will begin reading our class text, ‘Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief’ alongside our writing unit, ‘The Game’. In maths, we will continue our work on Place Value.

Reading

Please can you ensure that your child reads at least three times each week and that it is recorded in their planner. Reading is part of your child’s homework and will be checked each Friday.

PE

A quick reminder that, on PE days, children should only wear earrings if they are able to take them out independently and safely. Children should wear the PE kit that is in line with the schools PE kit expectations.

Key dates:

• P.E. will be on a Thursday afternoon. Please can all children bring their PE kit in on a Monday, it will then be returned on a Friday.
• Homework and spellings have been handed out today and will be due in on Friday.
