The Primary School of St Mary and St MartinLet your light shine – Matthew 5:16

WC 5th October 2026

Happy Friday!

This week, Blue Class have been busy investigating crimes against grammar!

The children began by completing their Grammar Police Academy training to earn their badges before heading off to investigate different crime scenes and uncover grammatical mistakes!

After carefully examining the clues and gathering evidence, they successfully caught the culprit, Grammar Graham, before putting their detective skills to the test with one final mystery!

We had so much fun, and the children were fantastic at getting into character and using their grammar knowledge to crack the cases!

Yesterday, we had a lovely visit from Lucy, who came to talk to us about the Christmas Shoebox Appeal. A letter will be sent home shortly with more information. Thank you to everyone who has already brought in a shoebox! If you haven't yet done so, please could you send one into school on Monday, as the children will be wrapping their shoeboxes in Christmas paper next week.

I’m sure you will agree that the children did such a fantastic job in the Harvest Festival. They all spoke so well, and it was lovely to see them all singing along to the Harvest songs.

Meeting: On Tuesday 13th October at 1:30pm, school will be hosting a BPBP coffee afternoon if you would like to attend.

Awards

A huge well done to Tilly, who received our Gold Award this week and to Amelia, who received our Excellent Effort Award. We are so proud of you!
