We have had yet another enjoyable week in Year 1. This week in computing, we have been discussing the different parts of a computer. We have also made comparisons between desktop computers and laptops We have been learning how to log on to our school laptops as well as using the trackpad on the laptops to double click if we would like to open something. I was very impressed with how well the children listened and followed instructions.

In literacy this week, we have been singing a different nursery rhyme every day as well as writing a sentence about what happened in the nursery rhyme. We have been trying our best to remember capital letters, finger spaces and full stops!

Finally, this afternoon we have made a salad as part of our Design and Technology food unit of ‘What does healthy mean?’ Children used their culinary skills very well to peel, chop and grate different salad vegetables to make their very own salad. They have brought this home to show you.
